Ronald L. Jones is a Texas based self-taught multidisciplinary artist. Jones’ artwork explores barriers between creatives and audiences, while regarding individuals and their communities. Jones challenges each individual’s respective perceptions in regard to the availability of access and agency within normative societal structures. Jones' site specific sculptures are exercises which investigate the usage of available space and how the environment is navigated by the public.
His public sculptures, though large in scale, are nearly invisible from a distance; a characteristic which allows the audience to simultaneously experience the sculptures and environment. Jones' sculptural works have existed as both guerrilla installations and have been featured in exhibitions and collaborations with Houston Museum of African American Culture, Art League Houston, Galveston Arts Center, BOX13 ArtSpace, DiverseWorks, and the Orange Show World Headquarters among others.
