Kathryn Dunlevie is a mixed-media, photography-based artist whose recent series have variously incorporated paint, collage, and photomontage. She has always been intrigued by spatial and temporal inconsistencies, and by each individual’s particular and shifting sense of what is real. Fragmenting, reassembling, and layering images, she suggests the fluidity of space and time and the complex psychologies of the entities she portrays.
Dunlevie earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University in 1974, studied at the Museum School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in 1975, and studied at the California College of Art in 1984. Her work has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, as well as in Germany, Russia and Canada. Additionally, Dunlevie’s work was included in L.A. Photo Curator's "TOP 40 of 2021" and in PhotoAlliance’s "Bay Area Current(ly)" in 2020. In 2017, her work was a part of the group exhibition, "Alternative Realities (Facts)", which took place in China.
