JULIE BROOK ALEXANDER: "SAVORING" | ARTIST STATEMENT: My passion for discovering visual relationships in nature led me to focus on the part of nature I experience most often, food. Preparing for this project, I researched flavor harmonies – food combinations that sing. In the same fashionthat I mix fresh produce, I layer medium format focus-stacked photographs of two primary ingredients. The individual photographs blend together as visualizations of deliciousnessemerge. My work invites the viewer to relish creativity in nourishment.
