Angel Oloshove is a ceramic sculptor whose work transcends the boundaries of functionality and delves into the realm of emotional expression.
Oloshove navigates the worlds of fine art and functional design. Her sculptural ceramics have garnered critical acclaim, with exhibitions like Floating Worlds receiving recognition as a Critic's Pick in ArtForum magazine. Simultaneously, in 2015, her functional pottery line prompted AnOther Magazine to name her one of the "Ten Modern Ceramists Shaping the Future", highlighting her impact on the contemporary ceramic scene. Most recently in the summer of 2024, she was one of two ceramic artists to represent America in the Milan based, Officine Saffi Award for contemporary ceramics.
She has contributing features in FORM magazine, LULA Japan, and most recently Ceramic Review.
Permanent collections include MD Anderson, the city of Houston’s Civic Art Collection, and Meow Wolf Houston. Her artist book Spontaneous Presence, was acquired by the SFMOMA library.
